28 June, 13:00 | Eindhoven

This Symposium will inform you and exchange the newest developments in the field of User Experience Design and communicate where the field is heading by showing state of the art work.

For people who are active in the User Experience domain or who create enabling technologies for the digital society equipped to function at the interface between people and technology. People who want to learn about recent developments in the field and what a project by a trainee of the User System Interaction (USI) Program might bring for them are also warmly welcome. Product owners, designers, and other practitioners are invited to share their knowledge and extend their network during the drinks.

Meet like-minded people and extend your network during this afternoon filled with inspiring talks about the future of UX. Get in contact with companies and experts from the UX Industry, consultancy, and the academic field, while enjoying some drinks.

Learn from Brian Pagán, Founder and UX Mentor at The Greatness Studio,
how to discusses emotion, empathy and ethics in UX; how evolving relationship with technology makes our humanity more important than ever. The topic of the talk will be "Teaching Machines How To Human: The Future of UX in the Fourth Industrial Revolution". Brian will point out how the limits of technology have moved far beyond the simple tools of our ancestors.

Listen to the business experiences of three top alumni from the USI Program at the TU/e.

Pieta van der Molen from Nedap Healthcare will share her '10 lessons learned' while applying user-centered design methods during the development of a diabetes game. A nearly full user-centered design cycle was executed for this project: in twelve months she went from research to conceptualization, detailing, and partly implementation. The project started with exploring the diabetes domain and defining the target audience and ended with a user evaluated high fidelity prototype of the game, called ‘SugarVita’.

Den Tserkovnyi from StudyPortals will share his experience from joining the quickly growing web-service company. Starting as a first scrum master and interaction designer he experienced the design and development workflow transformation in the course of the first 9 months. After 3,5 years it is apparent how decisions made in 2014 influenced the core products and the culture of the company. In his presentation, Den will share StudyPortals’s take on agile and user-centred design and development.

Lennart Overkamp from Mirabeau will introduce you to his 6-step guide for co-creating experience maps with stakeholders during his talk about 'Mapping Customer Experience'. An experience map visualizes the experience of a costumer before, during and after using a service. In his talk, Lennart will discuss the maps’ usefulness for increasing customer experience, and provide an overview of the research behind his 6-step guide for co-creating experience maps with stakeholders. Finally, he will present a vision regarding the role of experience maps in the future of UX design.

Connect with one of the 13 UX Talents from multidisciplinary backgrounds such as psychology, industrial design and computer science.
