As long as I can remember, I have been interested in people – how they behave, how they communicate. Never a day goes by that I do not observe something new, something surprising. I pursued this interest in my professional career as well – I have a Bachelor degree in Psychology and a Master degree in Human Factors & Engineering Psychology, both obtained at the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
During my studies, an internship at Philips Lighting was what sparked my interest in design. I designed a new format for work instructions that are used by assembly workers by utilizing user-centred design, and I developed a new way of working for creating these work instructions.
USI was what brought both my interests – people and design – together. I love the challenge of creating designs that are appealing to the people in terms of usability and user experience. Working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams allowed me to develop my skills in coordinating and communicating even more, gaining a more thorough understanding of the design cycle and the dynamic nature of teamwork in the process.
My strengths lie in project management and planning, making sure the teamwork is smooth and organised. Furthermore, I am able to put my conversation and research skills, learned during my studies, to good use when performing user research and product evaluation.
I want to improve people’s lifes through meaningful design, and I am looking forward to any future collaborations that will enable me to do so. Should you be interested, please do not hesitate to contact me.
